Search businesses for sale from your AI assistant

MainStreetKeys runs a free, public Model Context Protocol server. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client and ask for businesses for sale in plain English. It searches the same live catalog as this site: online businesses (Amazon FBA, SaaS, content, ecommerce) and professional practices (accounting, veterinary), with asking price, cash flow, location, industry, and a link to the broker who published each listing.

No account or API key. Read-only. Limited to 60 requests per minute per IP.

Transport: Streamable HTTP. No authentication.

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it MainStreetKeys and paste https://www.mainstreetkeys.com/mcp. Older Claude Desktop builds without custom connectors can use claude_desktop_config.json:

ChatGPT

Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → turn on Developer mode, then Create a connector with the URL https://www.mainstreetkeys.com/mcp and authentication set to No authentication. Turn it on in a chat from the + menu.

Tools

• search_businesses_for_sale: Plain-English query plus filters: industry, max_price, min_cash_flow, state, type (online / main_street / any), limit (up to 25).
• get_listing: One listing by id, e.g. empireflippers:96177.
• market_stats: Median asking price and asking multiple by industry, the same numbers as the business sale prices page.

Every result includes asking price, cash flow, location, industry, the source broker's name and URL, and a MainStreetKeys link. Figures are as the broker published them. Descriptions and images stay on the broker's site.

Example prompts

• Find Amazon FBA businesses for sale under $1.5M with at least $300K cash flow.
• Are there accounting practices for sale in Texas? Show price, revenue and the broker link.
• What's the median asking multiple for SaaS businesses right now?
• Compare the three cheapest content sites for sale with a multiple under 3x.
